Gibbs Partners With The Tour!!
Washington, Mo. April 28, 2018- The International Racquetball Tour (IRT) is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Mark and Laura Gibbs, owners of MLG Holdings,LLC. Mark has been involved with the IRT as the tournament director at the Lewis Drug Pro/Am for the past four years. The Gibbs have been looking to partner with the IRT for some time now, and it just took the right opportunity for them to approach the Tour with their long-term plans.
“We want to make racquetball free to watch for everyone going forward,” Mark said. “I’ve seen the numbers personally, I’ve seen the amount of people watching our sport online and I wanted to find a way to increase it even more.”
The Gibbs’ plan includes making all rounds, including semi-finals and finals, free to watch on all of the Tour’s different platforms: Facebook, YouTube, Twitch Tv and the IRT Network.
“I’ve heard from many different people about the frustrations of keeping up with a tournament and not getting to see the final rounds because of a subscription “roadblock”, and with this partnership we won’t have that problem,” Mark said. “With as many different countries that we have watching our sport, we want to make our best rounds available to them!”
Commissioner of the IRT, Andy Kulback, is excited about this new partnership.
“When we took over the IRT in July, one of the first things we recognized is that we need to expand our reach and grow viewership,” Kulback said. “Thanks to the generous support from Mark and Laura, we are now able to start the process and focus on positioning the IRT so that provides a larger return for our current sponsors and becomes an attractive advertising opportunity for new sponsors.”
The long-term goal of this Gibbs’ partnership is to not only to make the IRT more accessible to others around the globe, but to get the attention of potential partnerships through this increased viewership.
