July 2, 2019, Alexandria, VA – The IRT is thrilled to release the first half of the schedule for the 2019 – 2020 Season! With new tournaments on the calendar and returning events from last season, this is sure to be a great 2019-2020!
Here is what the first 1/2 of the season looks like:
September 5-8 | Atlanta Open – We’re heading back to the Recreation ATL! Thanks to Jason Chan and his team for bringing us back as a Tier 1 Event this season! This tournament will have Pro Singles, Pro Doubles, and Amateur Divisions.
September 19-22 | The Valentine Open – One of the IRT’s biggest supporters Tracie Valentine will be hosting the Valentine Open in September. Tracie is known for running awesome events, and the players are excited to be heading to Maryland. This tournament will have Pro Singles and Amateur Divisions.
October 2-6 | UnitedHealthcare US OPEN – The pinnacle of Grand Slams! Who doesn’t love the opportunity to play on the all-lucite stadium court! We know the players do! Doug Ganim and his crew host a top-notch event, and we can’t wait to get back to Minneapolis, MN! This tournament will have Pro Singles, Pro Doubles, and Amateur Divisions. Make sure to enter early, as, with 750+ entries, this event sells out!
October 24-27 | Arizona State Pro-Am – A brand new Tier 1 event on the schedule, this is also a fundraiser for the Arizona State and Northern Arizona University Racquetball Teams. Thanks to Jim Winterton and Frank Taddonio for bringing the IRT to ASU! This tournament will have Pro Singles and Amateur Divisions.
November 14-17 | California Open – This tournament has been a staple in our schedule for many years, and we appreciate all the efforts from Debbie Tisinger-Moore, Cindy Tilbury, and Rick Betts for making sure this event continues to happen each year. This tournament will have Pro Singles and Amateur Divisions.
December 5-8 | SPC John A. Pelham Memorial Tournament of Champions – To wrap up 2019 we’ll be heading Portland, Oregon for the SPC John A. Pelham Memorial Tournament of Champions. This tournament is unique for the players as proceeds from this event will go towards the Live Like John Foundation. This tournament will have Pro Singles and Amateur Divisions.
Can Kane Waselenchuk go undefeated this year? Or will IRT’s rising stars in the rankings, Alex Landa and Andree Parrilla have a thing or two to say about that? We can’t count out our tour veterans Rocky Carson and Alvaro Beltran, who have more experience than most of the players on tour.
With six Tier 1/GS Events locked in for the first half of the season and additional six in the second, including the 42ndLewis Drug Pro/Am, Shamrock Shootout, and the return of World Doubles (plus Singles!), this has the making to be the best IRT season yet! Look out, because we are just getting started!
