Statement from the IRT
The International Racquetball Tour’s goal is to build a viable and sustainable men’s professional racquetball tour. IRT management believes that a strong professional tour is essential to the sport we love. That COVID-19 pandemic has hit the sport particularly hard, and we are doing everything in our power to keep the Tour alive during these uncertain times. We have a deep commitment to helping the sport return to its former state and continue to grow.
This will not happen without the help and support of our sponsors, players, and our fan base.
The IRT has no political affiliations. We realize some people may not agree with positions taken by IRT sponsors, but we depend on all of our Sponsors to help keep the IRT’s mission alive.
Our fan base is very diverse. Any action, position, or response we take with respect to any sponsor will not be universally accepted by our fan base. Each fan is essential to the IRT, and there are many voices and opinions amongst that group. We all need to come together and focus on building the sport and the IRT brand.
Without the support of our sponsors, players, and fans, there is no IRT. Sponsorship dollars are difficult for small sports to obtain in normal times and even more difficult in these times. Without our current sponsors and a few individuals, there would be no IRT. At this point, we need everyone’s support to survive. Frankly, we need more people watching our streams; we need to give larger prize money purses to our players, we need to grow the IRT brand. That’s got to be our focus.
Help us build the IRT. Help us help the sport. Keep the politics out of the IRT.
