Jan. 5 Coast to Coast California Open Draws Record Entries
The IRT breaks a deade of Tier 1 records for entries as it starts the second half of the season with the Coast to Coast California Open in Canoga Park, CA, Jan. 5-8, with 300 participants from 8 countries, including 53 competing in the pro draw. Along with the US Open, it’s one of only two events where the WPRO (Women’s Professional Racquetball Organization) and the IRT vie for over $35,000 in prize money.
From the West to East Coast
From the California’s Coast to Coast Open to Long Island’s Cactus Salon NYC Open, the IRT starts 2012 with two tier one tournaments in a row. The pros will cross a generational divide along with the geographical distance, as hometown favorites, rising star Nick Montalbano and veteran Ruben Gonzales, enjoy the support of the local crowd as they enter the pro qualifying draw.
