Racquets & Mercedes in Cincinnati
Washington, MO. March 28, 2018- The International Racquetball Tour (IRT) will be in Cincinnati, Ohio from April 5-8 for the 2018 Mercedes Benz of Fort Mitchell: Raising Some Racquet For Kids Event. The Beechmont Racquet Club will host the ninth Tier 1 tournament that the Tour has produced this season, and is the second to last Tier 1 tournament of the season.
This happens to be the 10th annual Raising Some Racquet for Kids, which is a collaboration between the Greater Cincinnati Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter and Ohio Players to benefit Council on Child Abuse of Southern Ohio & Prevent Child Abuse America. The Raising Some Racquet for Kids tournament has raised over $50,000 to support Child Abuse Prevention Organizations so far i its 10 years, and the IRT hopes to help raise the total this year. This is also the first year the tournament will support the Autism Society of Greater Cincinnati as well!
In last year’s final, Rocky Carson, residing in Ladera Ranch, California defeated Daniel De La Rosa, residing in Gilbert, Arizona by scores of 12-10, 11-9, 9-11, 11-8. Carson has won the last two Raising Some Racquet For Kids events and will be looking for a three-peat in this year’s tournament.
Coming into Cincinnati is the #10 ranked player in the world, Andree Parrilla, who is fresh off his first Tier 1 tournament championship at the Shamrock Shootout earlier this month. Parrilla defeated David “Bobby” Horn, from Stockton, California in the finals by scores of 15-1, 15-9.
